Exhibition opening with an introduction by Jan Bojer Vindheim on Wednesday at 17.30 pm in the festival house.
The Yezidis are a religious and ethnic minority from the Middle East. They became known to the whole world in 2014 when the so-called Islamic State attacked their settlements around Mount Sinjar in Iraq.
Today, the majority of the world's Yezidis live in tented camps in the Kurdish part of Iraq, while various armed groups share Sinjar between them.
During the festival, a photo exhibition about the situation of the Yezidis will be shown. Jan B Vindheim, who has visited the Yezidis a number of times, both before and after 2014, will tell more about this secretive people group.
