The Latin American groups' solidarity carpet

The workshop at the patchwork will be open every day from 14.00 pm

The patchwork is a collective art political project under construction. The project started as a collective storytelling, and a collective memory, for the organization Latin-Amerikagruppene i Norge (LAG). The first time the patchwork was exhibited was at Kunstnernes Hus in the winter of 2020 in the Actions of Art & Solidarity exhibition. Since then, the carpet has only continued to grow together with activists from Norway, Sápmi and the Middle East. The carpet has traveled both to Repparfjorden, Svartlamoen and to the gallery Kunstplass in Oslo. Now the patchwork is traveling north and to the Karlsøya Festival! At the festival, the solidarity carpet will be the scene of a workshop, where you can silk-screen, sew, or use other materials. You can make something for the carpet, you can make a print on your own t-shirt, or a banner for the next demo - or start a completely new project. We have a lot of equipment, but encourage everyone to bring materials that can be reused - and that perhaps have a meaning from before? More about the patchwork here:
