The Spring 2026 Mission
The Global Sumud Flotilla is a large-scale, civilian-led maritime mobilization organized by international grassroots coalitions to break the blockade of the Gaza Strip and deliver humanitarian aid. Named after the Arabic word sumud (meaning steadfastness or perseverance), it brings together human rights defenders, doctors, engineers, and volunteers from over 70 countries.
In response to a direct call from Palestinians in Gaza, the Global Sumud Flotilla mobilized, on land and at sea, with thousands of participants, more than a hundred boats, hundreds of trucks, and expanded goals.
«This mission not only aims to break Israel’s illegal siege and deliver life-saving humanitarian aid, but also to establish a sustained civilian presence. Teams of doctors, nurses, eco-builders, war crimes investigators, unarmed civilian protectors and others will disembark to work alongside the Palestinian people. Mission Goals
The Spring 2026 Global Sumud Flotilla organized around six interlinked targets:
- Helping to Break the Siege: Directly confronting the illegal blockade and asserting the right of Palestinians to access their coast and the world beyond it.
- Delivering Life-Saving Aid: Delivering large-scale humanitarian aid, including food, baby formula, school supplies, and medicine.
- Establishing a People’s Sea Corridor: Creating a civilian-operated maritime route to Gaza to ensure unimpeded access to food, medicine, and essential supplies, and asserting the Palestinian people’s sovereignty over their own waters.
- Supporting Reconstruction: Dedicated teams accompanying Palestinians through early stages of rebuilding homes, schools, and hospitals.
- Confronting Complicity: Exposing the international complicity that enables the blockade and mobilizing global civil society to demand accountability.
- Catalyzing Global People-Powered Action: Transforming the flotilla into a catalyst for coordinated land and sea mobilizations, amplifying Palestinian voices, and empowering people worldwide to act where governments and institutions have failed.
