Karlsøyfestivalens prosjekt The Intergalactic Art School – den omreisende skoletipien – er nå på turne!
Intergalactic Art school er en tipi som drar inn deltakerne til og være med og kunnskape og samskape kunstskapelser! Den vil undersøker community art-teknikker og samtidskunsten ut fra ulike perspektiver og materialer, f.eks tid, plass og rom, historisk & lokalt i en progressiv satsning i tråd med festival-manifestet!
Den deltar på Park Poetic i Brussel mellom 26. og 29. juni! Der tilbyr Elle Reidarneida og Sofia Lintu workshops og som deltar med joik.
Den vil deretter reise til Svartlamon, Trondheim og tilby workshops for barn og ungdom, med Loan TP Hoang som fasilitator.
Deretter drar den videre Karlsøyfestivalen, der flere vil tilby workshops og forestillinger i den.
Det vil bl.a. være en delegasjon fra Belgia og festivalen Park Poetik i Brussel (Kadanja, Ananda Dev Vaes, og Yacine Sangara ) som vil presentere den deltakende bevegelsesforestilling ABIDE WITH ME.!
Det blir mini-kurs og workshops i forskjellige materialer og teknikker f.eks. Mask-making med Ananda Dev Vaes. På Karlsøyfestivalen vil den også samarbeide med Elle Reidarneida Varsi og Karlsøyfestivalens vintage-hippie-klesworkshop, samt Karlsøyfestival-Community Garden (og vi skal lage hage-deko i selge! (Salix arctica)). Gabriel Stenhuggeri-workshop vil også delta og alle andre som vil og kan være med oss.

Intergalactic Art School: Weaving Communities for Collaborative Futures
A nomadic art school rooted in Northern Scandinavia’s wisdom, reimagining education through creativity, connection, and co-survival.
The Intergalactic Art School is a transformative, mobile art initiative that journeys across Northern Europe and beyond—connecting people, places, and practices through collective creativity. Emerging from the northernmost edges of Scandinavia, this project is deeply grounded in the values and ways of life shaped by its Arctic origins: mutual care, deep respect for nature, and the belief in art as a living, healing force.
Conceived by artist and facilitator Sofia Lintu, the school blends the visions of Weaving Communities for Collaborative Futures and The Intergalactic Art School into a unified platform for co-creation, cultural exchange, and collective empowerment. With a schooltipi as its traveling heart, this initiative challenges dominant ideas of what school is and where it belongs—inviting communities to learn together, across borders, and in rhythm with the land.
A Vision for Artful Co-Survival
At its core, the Intergalactic Art School is a call to “samberging”—a Northern Scandinavian ethic of collective co-survival. We reject hierarchical and neoliberal structures of learning and instead offer a fluid, inclusive space for experimentation and connection. This is art as social infrastructure: not a product, but a shared process for imagining and building better futures together.
Workshops take place not in classrooms, but in fields, forests, and festivals. We co-create with moss, wind, sound, and story—crafting installations that disappear into the landscape, that breathe, resonate, and transform.
